John-Michael Nix obtained his master’s degree in TESOL in 2007 from National Kaohsiung Normal University. He has extensive teaching experience spanning primary, secondary and tertiary educational levels. While in Kaohsiung, he taught English at cram schools. Prior to his arrival in Taiwan he taught high school English in Japan on the JET program. Most recently, he worked part-time as a lecturer at several universities in northern Taiwan. Currently, he is finishing a PhD dissertation in TESOL at the National Taiwan Normal University while he is teaching full-time at National Taitung University. His major research interests are testing and psychometric measurement, but he enjoys researching any topic which may prove beneficial to students’ learning. His favorite topics to teach are TOEFL test preparation and movie/media English.
